840031 Sound Calibration Demonstration
Calibration is suggested by OSHA to ensure accurate samplings for sound level surveys in the field. This unit is designed for use with digital sound meters that are user-calibrated and have 1/2" or 1" microphones. Conforms to ANSI S1.4-1984 and IEC 60942-2003 Class 2.

Sound Calibration Demonstration

Step 1:

Determine your sound meter's microphone size. When calibrating a meter with a 1/2" diameter microphone, use the black 1/2" MICROPHONE ADAPTER. When calibrating a meter with a 1" microphone, remove the ADAPTER, revealing the 1" MICROPHONE INSERTION SOCKET.

Step 2:

Carefully insert the microphone of the sound meter into the MICROPHONE INSERTION SOCKET.

Step 3:

Slide the OFF/94dB/114dB SELECTOR to 94dB. If the POWER INDICATOR fails to turn green, replace the battery.
Step 4:

Be sure the sound meter is set to an appropriate scale to measure a sound of 94dB. Adjust your meter until the display reads 94dB.

Step 5:

To perform calibrations in a noisy environment or to check linearity, set your sound meter to the appropriate scale to measure a sound of 114dB. Slide the OFF/94dB/114dB selector to 114dB. Adjust your meter until the display reads 114dB.
